I’m starting off the 12 experiments with A Month of No Alcohol: Dry January, a tried-and-true exercise in sobriety. Admittedly, I did the same experiment last October for 3 weeks, so this won’t be an entirely new experience. This time though, I want to approach it with more purpose and reflection than I did in October.
Basically, I want to examine my default behaviors. As is the case for a lot of us, alcohol is a common element of how my family and friends spend time together; e.g. happy hour, dinner & drinks, brewery tours, and so on. And, in October, I learned some surprising things about my default behaviors that I want to look at more.
Plus, I anticipate there will be some other bonuses from not drinking for all of January - more cash money, better sleep, and more energy. I ain’t opposed to that!
